PingLogin - Consumer Authentication Management

« Find cheese the smart way. | Main | Evolution of Tools »
We recently created this graphic to show how PingLogin was designed from the ground up for extensibility when it came to enabling centralized consumer authentication and session management. The system has four major points of extensibility.

- plugable strong authentication
- plugable 'bindings' for allowing users to authenticate via multiple channels (e.g. HTTP, Flash, Ajax, IVR, Mobile Device)
- plugable session management
- plugable policy

All of this can be configured in such a way that different consumer facing applications (realms) can utilize different combinations of the above.

This provides companies with a logical place to enable CardSpace support and abstract out where strong authentication is integrated. Of course, PingLogin has already been pre-integrated with PingFederate so that your consumer facing applications can do federated single sign-on via both SAML and WS-Federation.
