3rd Annual Federation Users Group Agenda

«  | Main | Strong Desktop Authentication & Federated SSO for 100M Computers »

Our 3rd Annual Federation Users group is right around the corner (Wed Sept 25th at DIDW). We've got a great line-up of discussion topics, and plan to unveil features of our upcoming PingFederate 5.0 release (a whopper of a release). We'll also demonstrate some exciting new innovations around what we're calling "dynamic federation". which is a new paradigm for radically simplifying partner connection setup (100% dynamic federation). Best yet, it requires NO changes to the SAML 2.0 core specification, and doesn't compromise some of the inherent trust and security built into SAML.

Oh yea, and don't forget to cut your identity loose at our party with Covisint Monday night, or our Federation Users Group Boat Cruise Wednesday night.

Other things we'll talk about at the Federation Users Group:

Federation for SaaS & BPO Providers

What unique technical & business opportunities does Federated IdM provide for SaaS & BPO providers?

Where do CardSpace and OpenID fit with Federation?

Do CardSpace and OpenID complement/converge or replace SAML-based B2B federation?

Connectionless Federation

Why can't setting up federation and SAML be as easy as setting up a mail server? How dynamic metadata, root CA trust and white/black lists could remove the friction of SAML connection setup.

Federated Web Services (STS)

Which use cases and market drivers are driving the adoption of identity enabled web services?

Federated Provisioning

How are people using just-in-time and batch provisioning techniques with federation use cases, and how do these techniques compare?

Integration Design Patterns for Federation

What is the best way to integrate my applications with a federation server?

Beyond SAML 1.1….Why SAML 2.0?

How does the additional functionality in SAML 2 make federation both simpler and applicable for a wide set of use cases?

Multi-Lateral Federation

How does multilateral federation compare with traditional point-to-point federation in terms of implementation, legal and operational issues, and benefits achieved?
