Introducing SPAML!

Once a month we geek out on whatever we want to work on. Suffice it to say, we've got some really creative people, and we're always surprised by what really cool stuff they come up with. Here's a presentation of one teams efforts to intersect SAML with Email Authentication. They call it SPAML. May the force be with you.

Ping Strikes Back

On January 24th, Sun Microsystems threw down the gauntlet by releasing this video. I guess our new Auto-Connect™ feature got their attention. Yea, Auto-Connect IS good marketing, but it's also real software, download it and see for yourself.

Sun

Sun vs. Ping Video: The Epic Battle

We didn't really know we were in an epic battle with Sun, but we can't be the leader without a challenger, and we won't be challenged without a response.

So, in the spirit of having a bit of fun with Sun (and ourselves), we prepared this response. Special thanks to Jeremy Rudel for selecting the scene of the battle, Mark Viens for his story telling genius, and Jeremy Hudson for his epic editing skills. Let the battle begin!

Be different

I'll always support someone who bucks the trend (...just as long as they're right!) There's something just special about people who have that in their blood. Andrea's the guru of product marketing here at Ping. She's set the bar on smart, and sassy! taken with my new Canon 70-200mm by Craig Wu -- nice shot!)

PingFederate 5.0 Released with Auto-Connect

We released the largest and most significant upgrade to PingFederate in our history today. PingFederate 5.0 with Auto-Connect eliminates the need for manual configuration of SAML connections when establishing secure Internet Single Sign-On. The new version of PingFederate also has advanced clustering and data-center features, making it one of the most scalable, yet easiest to deploy solutions for federated identity management on the market.

But don't take our word for it. Download it today, check it out, scan the manuals and judge for yourself.

ConAgra SSO to Rearden leverages PingFederate!

Rearden Commerce recently published a terrific study highlighting how Internet SSO enabled by Ping increased utilization.

"With SSO, ConAgra Foods employees aren’t hindered by log-in burdens and the organization is confident employees are transacting in a secure environment. After just one month of using the Rearden Personal Assistant, ConAgra Foods recorded an 81 percent user adoption figure for its online air bookings – far exceeding the company’s goals."

Time to train

Committing yourself to being the best at anything requires a lot of training and it's that time of year here at Ping when we all get together and talk about what's working and what's not. After a day sharing our stories, we head out for a little fun. Last night, the Denver Aquarium.

Don't bet your hair

Mark Viens, head of Global Client Services (GCS) here at Ping bet his team his hair that they couldn't blow away their numbers in 2008.

Mark lost. The price, a hair cut at our annual kick-off.

Is this really happening?

Yes it is!

Mark's a great sport! Hey, Mark, you look younger AND taller now!

Shibbmaster Nate is in the house

Nate the Shibbmaster was in the house today, training some of our sales and support engineers on Shibboleth. With the help from our very own, Mr. Waite, the entire group was all smiles by 5pm, as they had successfully setup a Shibb federation. Let the Shibbfest begin.
